Return To Him

Most of us have “Mountain top” seasons of our lives.

Seasons that pull us out of a dark place.

Seasons where believing comes easy.

Seasons where we feel anything is possible.

Usually, these seasons are linked to events in our lives.

Youth Camps, Prayer meetings, or powerful prophetic words.

Times when we can FEEL God’s tangible power.

But after that, we often fall into season of slacking.

Revelation 2:4-5, 'But I have this against you, that you have left your first love. Therefore, remember from where you have fallen, and repent and do the deeds you did at first; or else I am coming to you and will remove your lampstand out of its place—unless you repent. '

This isn’t what God has for us.

He doesn’t want us to “slack” when it comes to Him.

He doesn’t want us to “just get by”; He wants us to have a real and personal relationship with Him.

Sometimes we go through seasons when our relationship with God feels strained, or even empty.

There’s a lot of reasons why.

One of those reasons is we just get bored with God.

We come off these mountains and assume we can slack because we just got “a big dose of God,”

Instead of doing our devotionals, we click around on the Bible App just long enough to keep our streak.

Instead of praying from our heart, we pray the LORD’s Prayer and neglect praying for our friend who is
struggling.

We slip by and then continue on our way.

But did God ever say: “I’m going to give you fire insurance and you’re going to pay my fees and our
business is done.”?

No.

He said this: 'Just as the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you; abide in My love. ', John 15:9

We have to abide in His love.

We have to return to that mountain top love.

We have to keep our hearts burning for Him.

We can't be people who settle for a “get-by” relationship with God: ‘I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot; I wish that you were cold or hot. So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor
cold, I will spit you out of My mouth. ' Revelation 3:15-16

There is no in-between with God, you can’t slack and still expect to have a good relationship with Him.

You have to let Him in your life – and be in a place where he IS God – in the boring places and the mountaintops.

'Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me. ' Revelation 3:20
