love started a war

Published: September 6, 2026

Love started a war.

God created us out of love. Then instead of repaying him with praise and worship, we betrayed him. We waged war. God showed us love we returned it with hate.

God still loved us; he should have left us in the dust but instead he loved us all the more. Out of love he came to bring peace.

And how do we repay him? We hung him on a cross.

He came out of love and to bring the gift of eternal life, we showed him how much we cared when we hung him on that cross. He came out of love and to bring peace, we showed him hate and waged war.
How could God’s perfect love start this never-ending war? How do we betray God for such little cost?

We criticize Judas for betraying Jesus for 30 pieces of silver, but we betray God for free every day of our lives. We betray him to have a glimpse of pleasure, to achieve some worldly success, for some earthly treasure that will soon return to dust.

We wage war with God every single day. How does God repay us? With love, with a free gift of eternal life waiting to be opened. With hope, that one day this war will end.

How do we keep letting God’s love feed the flame to our war against him? How do we rebel against his great love? How do we call his love evil? How did love start a war?

Why does love keep this war going? God loves us, we hate him. God gives us a second chance we turn our backs on him. Can love really start a war?

Our love can’t even be compared to God’s. We extend a hand to a friend and call it love, Jesus dies for us on a cross and we call it hate speech. We affirm each other so we are guided astray, God corrects us so we can grow closer with him.

God loves us. We should return His love. Love started a war. Now, what side are you going to join? Will you continue fighting love with hate, or will you lay down your weapons and help end the war through the love of Christ?
