Favorites

Favorites and Un-Favorites.

As humans, we often pick favorites.

Our favorite is our go-to.

The one we think is the best.

The one we want to tell our friends about.

And on the opposite side, we have un-favorites.

The things we hate.

The things that we DON’T want to tell our friends about.

So, here’s the question: Is God your favorite?

You might have God at the center at your heart-- your only desire, but that doesn’t mean He’s your “favorite”.

Here’s what I mean:

Do you talk to your friends about God?

You can be a Christian your whole life and never share your faith with anybody.

Nobody ever knew you were a Christian.

And that’s a problem for a lot of us.

Me included.

Personally, the fear that keeps me from sharing the gospel is rejection.

I’m afraid of being rejected by people because of my beliefs.

I’m afraid that people will hate me.

And we all need to learn that’s OK.

Because here’s the thing: God never promised faith would be easy, but he promised that He’ll be with us every step.

Jeremiah 1:8 'Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you,” declares the Lord. '

And

John 16:33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

Our pain and suffering on earth IS temporary; it’s not going to last long.

Because Jesus is coming back soon.

And on that day, we will all be judged.

You, and everyone you’ve ever known will stand before the throne of God Almighty.

And some won’t make it.

Don’t let it be because your fear got in the way.
