Hallways & Rooms

Published: July 8, 2026

I recently went on a prayer walk around my home. (That is, my mom made my siblings and me do it.)

But I realized something profound.

If rooms represent the seasons of our lives, then hallways are the places in between.

And we don't really like them, do we?

When we feel depressed or alone, we go to our rooms, not our hallways.

When we just need "5 seconds" -- or six hours -- to ourselves, we go to our rooms.

Because that's where we feel safe.

Ever noticed that we don't like being "in between" things?

In between schools, in between jobs, or in between events.

Its because we are unable to anchor ourselves to anything.

That's kinda like hallways -- long, empty spaces that only hold photos we have long forgotten.

Or..maybe photos that we don't like to look at.

Like seasons in our lives, when we don't like to look back -- because what we see reminds us of what we left behind.

And usually, we think what we left behind is better than what's ahead.

But that's not always true.

Whatever season of life you're in, God is using it.

"And we know that God causes all things to work together for the good of those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose" Romans 8:28

Whether you're in a season of life, or you're "in-between."

He's working all things for your good.

So whether you're in a hallway or a room., know that God loves you, and He's working all things for your good.
