Do you really love God?

Do you really love God?

Are you truly loving God or just acting for the cameras? Today in our age and culture, we often expect God to give us everything we want, and if He doesn’t, we try our own way. How often do we do what God wants us to do? We live our lives and sin against God, barely read our Bibles, and rarely pray, but when times get hard, we blame it on God.

If you punch your best friend in the face multiple times in a row, then ask for a hundred dollars, do you think he’ll give it to you? And if he doesn’t give it to you, are you going to complain about it? Yet we sin against God daily, rarely spend time with Him, and reject Him with our actions, then demand what we want when we want it.

I had a conversation with an agnostic, and in it we asked him what it would take for him to become a Christian. He replied, “I would need God to interfere with my life in some way, like a dream or a miracle or something like this.” He told us that unless he is 100% certain in what he believes, he is not going to believe it.

After he said this, I replied that most people are never 100% certain about their faith. I have doubts. I’m not absolute in what I believe all the time, and I go through seasons where I have questions, but after doing research, they are always answered.

For some people there might always be some doubt, but in a court case the burden of proof is never with all certainty, 100%. The burden of proof is beyond all reasonable doubt, which most judges would say is around 90%. There is so much more evidence for God than evolution and so much more evidence for Christianity than any other religion. Don’t take my word for it—do the research.

Are you going to continue to deny God with your actions and spend more time thinking about yourself than God? Are you going to continue to demand answers and demand a better life? Or are you going to start spending time daily in the Word, talking to God whenever you can, and realize you will never know all the answers?

Are you ready to rely on God more than yourself? Psalms 55:22 tells us to give our burdens to the Lord. Whatever is weighing you down, whatever sin you are struggling with, give it to God. Once you do this and pursue God wholeheartedly, you will see a huge shift in your life. You will go from reading the Bible as just another thing to check off the list to really enjoying every moment you have with God. Instead of being scared of men and what they will think of you, you will become more afraid of God.

Are you going to keep staying silent? Are you going to continue to let the fear of man get in your way of sharing the gospel? Are you going to continue to demand answers while denying God with your actions, or are you ready to make a shift in your life?

Rebel Cry is here to support you on your journey of becoming a wise, fruitful follower of Christ. We cannot continue to go on with our day-to-day lives without purpose. God commanded us to be a light to the world. I don’t think we as Christians are doing our job very well. The agnostic that I told you about earlier said his main reason for not being a Christian was because of hypocrites in the church. Are you one of those?

“Jesus said to them, ‘I am the light of the world; he who walks in Me will not see darkness but will have the light of life.’” — John 8:12

Do you have the light of life? If you do, are you sharing that? We need to be the light to the world. You don’t need to go to some foreign country to do so. Start right where you are—your neighborhood, school, or sports team. Start right where you are. That is where you can make a difference. We need more leaders to step up. Are you willing to be one of them?
